"I have been exhibiting at art shows and galleries the past 25 years. I was designated one of two Illinois Artisans in wood in 2008.  Moving back to Indiana, I was designated an Indiana Artisan in wood in 2015. I have always been driven by my passions, whether it be teaching or working in my studio. I cannot fathom a time when I will not be totally involved in my art  and in my life." -Thom Pabst, Founder of Thom Pabst Creations

While teaching, Thom began using his trade to make items for his grandchildren like rocking horses, doll houses, and furniture for their bedrooms. For students graduating from his speech team, Thom would make wooden graduation books, photo albums, pens, and more.

With all of his woodworking skills, Thom began to grow the array of items he would make as a testament to his excitement for the creative process. This catalog of items grew so expansive that Thom began taking his creations to art shows. After fifteen years of selling his work at art shows, Thom decided to create this website, thereby expand the viewership of his work. We hope that you enjoy it as much as he does.

Family, Homes, and More

Thom's journey in woodworking began at the age of five playing with tools on the ground while his dad was working on a barn roof. His time came in high school, when his dad, L.W. Pabst, began to teach him the trade. In time, he learned every facet of home building.

After graduating high school, Thom became an English teacher, but continued to build houses in the summers. After 37 years of teaching, Thom has worked on or built half the homes at his high school.
